Stephen Colbert is my hero. I love how he uses his influence to do good in the world. When he "ran for president," supporters donated $66,000 to South Carolina classrooms in his honor. Recently, he ran his own philanthropic straw poll during the Pennsylvania primaries to see if Senators Clinton and Obama have what it takes to tango. Over three weeks, citizen philanthropists gave $188,567 to classroom projects on DonorsChoose.org, reaching approx 44,550 Pennsylvania students from low-income communities.
